How did you balance everything? Am I over thinking this?I am open to different ideas, just looking to do it on a budget. Maybe use a boat trailer hand crank to raise and lower?I have a short ceiling (10 ft?) garage as well. I'd prefer to keep the lift light as possible and avoid the wood framed lift ideas like.EDIT: So of all the designs I have seen, I like 's the best. It looks simple and overcomes the possibility of the top rotating after it is off the vehicle. I may use a combination of his design and the kayak hoist I purchased.
