For some reason this question just popped into my head while doing homework, and it seems more entertaining than doing the latter. So I'm no lore buff, I've basically played through most of Skyrim (750 hours, haven't faced Alduin yet though) and I've started a character in Online. I've also read up on some lore focused on gods and the creation of the TES universe, although I haven't really done any of these things in about a year. From what I've understood the Et'Ada where parted into the groups Aedra and Daedra depending on if they stayed or left the Aurbis (or was it only Mundus? I'm not sure how much of the world is included in the Aurbis) before the creation was finished, the Daedra being the ones who left which meant they kept most of their power. And Magnus was one of the ones who decided to leave, which should make it a Daedra, but for soem reason I've never heard anyone call Magnus a Daedra which has led to slight confusion for me.So while Mehrunes Dagon, Meridia, Molag Bal and all those other fun guys seemingly gave birth to a star each when they departed, Magnus' escape actually generated the sun which we see in the games.

Why did Magnus' departure cause such a huge event as to grant the people on Mundus access to Magicka through Aetherius, and why has this being (from what I know) never tried to contact us in any game, much unlike many other Daedric Princes?Would this also mean that Aetherius is Magnus' realm of Oblivion? That would mean that most people who die presumably empower Magnus is some way, since that seems to be the strategy (or whatever) of a couple of other 'overbeings' in this universe? On a side-note, has ever Bethesda officially said anything about Michael Kirkbrides texts?

I haven't read any of them, but I've wrote to people who have and they seems interesting, especially when things like the Godhead come into play, as well as his explanation of CHIM being about the only one we have except for some in-game book about zero-summing. The only other question I can think of then is wether Magnus was an Aedra or Daedra birth-wise. By this I mean to ask wether it's a result of Anu and Padomay, or only the latter one. My guess is that they both created Magnus.Other than that I'll just push in another question or two. Are all Daedra, Aedra and Magna-Ge (is Magnus itself included in this group? I read that it translates rougly to 'children of Magnus', which should mean he's outside of the group) what can be called Et'Ada? And are there any more classifications of Et'Ada?.

Interesting point and I understand what you mean. Aedra have a bit of a vague defintion but to answer your question.Aedra are the product of the mixed blood from Anu and Padomay after their battle.

However, Daedra are of pure Padomay blood. Aedra also have to have some sort of involvement in the creation of Mundus and in this case Magnus is believed to be the architect. It did flee to Aetherius to keep some of its power but like the other Aedra, had much of it depleted.Another thing to note is that Padomay had a strong hatred towards the mortal world, which passed on to the Daedra whereas Magnus doesn't harbour the same feelings from what I know.Hope I helped.:D. Not a Daedra, as he was involved in the Mundus' creation; he designed the thing. Also, the Deadra aren't the stars as you say in the OP. The stars are the Magna-Ge, who followed Magnus in his escape from Mundus. And on the side-note, nothing said officially about MK's out-of-game texts as a whole, but some bits are included here & there, most notably a part of From the Many-Headed Talos in Heimskr's dialogue. Some people consider them lore because, as you say, they make the universe more interesting. But no official word.

And I would leave it at that; there are enough TES canon debates strewn around the Internet already. I thought that the Daedra were in on the creation of Mundus to begin with, but later left when they kinda wanted to keep their powers for themselves, maybe knowing that Lorkhan was draining the Aedra.Does this mean Magnus and the other (presumably weaker?) Magna-Ge are a sort of third classification between Aedra and Daedra? You're right about the debates:) What about the many-headed-Talos is related more than other things? Is that refering to the enantiomorph (?) between Wulfharth, the mage and Tiber Septim?

Possibly some wrong names there:). I thought that the Daedra were in on the creation of Mundus to begin with, but later left when they kinda wanted to keep their powers for themselves, maybe knowing that Lorkhan was draining the Aedra. This is the definition of the Magna-Ge - in on the creation of Mundus to start with, and withdrew during, tearing holes as they went. These became the sun & stars. What about the many-headed-Talos is related more than other things? It's that it's quoted directly in Skyrim; when his other stuff comes up, it's an oblique reference at best. But Many-Headed Talos and Heimskr has this:Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.The full thing is here:.

I can guess that it's reffereing to how he removed some jungles from all existenceYes. The portion Heimskr quotes is preceded by, 'You have suffered for me to win this throne, and I see how you hate jungle.'

Royalty being a sort of synonym to CHIMCHIM is the Ehlnofex word for royalty. They can be seen as the same thing here.Red Legion being the Redguards.I don't think so in this case, as the Redguards didn't have anything to do with Cyrodiil as a province, and so wouldn't have been concerned with it being jungle. I think it's a reference to the legions of Cyrodiil itself, which can (possibly) be associated with the Red Diamond that is the focus of the Chim-el Adabal. But I could be wrong there. Of course! The Red Diamond is the gem in the centre of the Amulet of Kings, which is also called the Chim-el Adabal. It was a stone that Akatosh either created out of his own blood or his heart, and is where (iirc) all the souls of the dragon-blooded emperors go on death. It was the only connection with red and the Legions that I could think of, beyond an obvious link with the legions doing bloody work in the conquest of Tamriel.

But I'm not sure there's enough in there to make the link between 'Red Legions' and the amulet actually work, now I think about it.
