Belzabub is nice mod but playing unfinished and abandoned mod feels awkward. Also - level locked progress is biggest problem with this mod, forcing you to grind levels until mobs give no XPs.Currently rocking Barb on lvl30 on Nightmare difficulty, can't fight Butcher because he stunlock me permamently, even with Very Fast weapon and skill that boost attack speed I can't hit him.I got similar thing happening on Normal with bosses and named minibosses, had to gring level or two more, went back with same gear and without spending skillpoints, killed stuff with no problem. Huh.The Hell mod does not do that (also played Barb).Barb in The Hell mod also starts with 0 Magic and can't spend skillpoints on it but still could get mana from other sources to cast spells (like Heal or enrage). There are crossbows in both mods but they are more fitted for warrior and barbarian so you don't need to chase running enemies.Repair All includes items in the inventory, not just the equiped ones.

No need for that. I think The Hell is the best way to play the game.

It doesn't mess with the vanilla theme like Belzebub does, but adds a ton of new content to the game, including the Hellfire expansion, more classes, and hundreds of new monsters and items. The optional music is really good too, and really fits the dark theme. It also ups the difficulty, which I think is an improvement. Fighting through each room requires more strategy now, rather reminds me of Dark Souls more. It's especially fun in multiplayer, you just need Hamachi installed. Belzebub mod is most likely the best way to enjoy Diablo. Not only it's far superior technically to what GOG team coocked up (great stability, all modern screen ratios with multiple zoom levels, lots of quality of life improvements) but also fixes numerous bugs and exploits that were never addressed by Blizzard (a lot of spells in D1 simply doesn't work, etc.).

Even more, it improves balance, reintroduces content cut from the original game (multiple quests that audio for was left in game files) and adds some Diablo 2 style mechanics (like set items, new character classes or belts with multiple rows of potions). All that without compromising the unique feel and style of Diablo 1.Hell mod has some interesting things in it as well, but is way more loose in terms of staying true to the original D1 (introducing stuff from Hellfire all over the place) and is mostly aimed for masochists. Vealckowsky: Belzebub mod is most likely the best way to enjoy Diablo.

I am not agree whith youBelzebub is maybe a good mod but it compromise the unique feel and style of diablo 1 because there are lots of gameplay changes that modify diablo 1 feeling.
